The giants

Val Masino’s great peaks have a mountaineering history that dates back to the second half of the 1800s, when English and Italian mountaineers, accompanied by the local Alpine guides, were the first to conquer the most important peaks of the area: Monte Disgrazia in 1862, Piz Cengalo in 1866 and Piz Badile the following year.

From then until the present day the mountaineering exploration of these summits and their grandiose granite walls has never stopped and has made Val Masino famous among mountaineers from all over the world.
