Bouldering was born here!

“Bouldering” was first born in Italy in Val Masino in the late ‘70s, with the local term “Sassismo”.
Climbing a rock a few meters high and without a rope became the new game of climbing, stimulating creativity and also bringing with it the technical preparation for climbing on high walls with rope and bolts.

In Valmasino the bouldering field is one of the largest in the Alps, each small boulder in the valley has its own name and a small history. Hundreds of boulders scattered among lush meadows and pristine forests offer moves of every difficulty and many sectors to visit at any time of year.

In addition, the organization in this place of major international meetings of climbers has helped to increase the fame of this historic activity.
